This is me pointing out to everyone exactly how old I was that day!
By the end of the day I was shattered, however my dad got me some fireworks so we ended the night MTV style!!>Saturday night was our works Christmas party, us ‘odds and sods’ departments (Marketing, IT, the PA’s etc) were joined for the last time by the Household and Commercial department.
The 41 of us descended on the Rose & Crown in Snettisham all at once (literally, as we arrived by coach and a couple of taxis!) and in true style of Flux staff on a night out headed straight for the bar…
After a couple of drinks we headed through to the restaurant for the meal, our table was rather cosy as we all squeezed in, and there was plenty of accidental elbowing going on! We were only sat for the meal for a short time so it was ok. The Household and Commercial chaps decided not to go for the traditional form of dessert and opted for Jagerbombs instead, which I think they carried on having right until the end of the night!
After the meal the tables were cleared away and the disco kicked in! The Household and Commercial guys were straight on the dance floor strutting their funky (and some not so funky) dance moves! Helen, Cath and myself opted for taking numerous pictures of ourselves with a moustache from a cracker…hilarious fun!
After a few more drinks everyone was dancing away only pausing for more drinks or photos! As we were such a large group I think we kind of took over the place, so apologies to the other parties there!
The food was great, the venue was great, everyone had a great time, and I bet there were some sore heads in the morning, I know mine was…damn the white wine…! The warm up to Christmas 2008 has officially begun!

In true girl style, as I had no idea what I’d need to take, I took everything. Literally. LOG thought I was joking when I told him that I was bringing a small case and about 4 bags (including 3 pairs of shoes….for 2 nights away…).
I found out where we were heading when he had to give me my train ticket…BRIGHTON baby!!! I love Brighton; it has to be one of the best places to go in this country! We stayed at a small boutique guesthouse called Kemp Townhouse, and it was lovely. I’d highly recommend it. Everything was perfect…I had even more treats waiting for me in the room…long stemmed roses, chilled champagne, and Belgian chocolates…what more could a girl ask for?!
We spent the days wandering around The Lanes, and the shops (LOG now wants some duelling pistols after spotting them in a shop window), and of course visiting the bars and pubs! In the evenings we went to 2 lovely restaurants, the first night we didn’t end up getting to the restaurant until after 10pm…which I felt guilty about until people came in after us!
After ours days in Brighton, we spent a day mooching around London, Oxford Street, a Paul Smith shop for LOG (well I had dragged him in almost every other shop we’d gone past!) St James Park, Buckingham Palace and down Regent Street to see the Christmas lights…which I wasn’t too keen on as I thought they just looked like giant spider webs…
And last but not least I was taken to Whipsnade Zoo!!!! Zoo’s rock!!! Especially the elephants. The tigers and lions were fairly chilled out…well asleep. The otters were cool, they sound like kittens though which was quite random…also watching them eat their tea of dead rats/mice was actually a bit disturbing. The wolves were fighting…or playing! The penguins were the stars of the day though, as we stood at the side they all came over…literally all of them…they just stood there looking at us, so I felt it rude not to make a speech….am I odd??
I had a brilliant brilliant week, and I was totally and utterly spoiled beyond belief…I could get used to that….

Because I love any excuse for a night out, not only did I celebrate my Birthday in Birmingham (see below) but I also had another shindig in Lynn for all the people that couldn’t make Brum.
I was sozzled, pretty much from the start… I started off in the Lattice with a few friends expecting everyone to be late… I was wrong they were on time (of course) and I turned up over half an hour late after having drunk several glasses of wine.
Of course the evening got slightly messier from there. Why is there a pole in Dr Thirsty’s now? surely its just asking for trouble? We’ll say no more about that. I hope everyone had fun! Im afraid I lost a few people along the way… oops >
Earlier last month me and my beautiful friends went to Brancaster for the evening to see fluxbabe Jen’s other half play in his band The DeadBeats. Now I’ve never been to Brancaster but the band was great0 just my type of music.
Plus anywhere I go with my friends and a supply of alcohol is going to be entertainment. So wahoo! and I look forward to attending the next DeadBeats gig.
