>Spoiled Rotten!

A couple of weeks ago it was mine and LOG’s year anniversary (and my first entire week off this year!), so as an unexpected treat he booked a hotel and whisked me away for a surprise couple of days! Despite my ever-so-subtle attempts at trying to find out where he was taking me (well, I say subtle it was more like “so…where did you say we’re going again?” to which the reply was always “I didn’t say and I’m not telling you”) he managed to keep it secret.

In true girl style, as I had no idea what I’d need to take, I took everything. Literally. LOG thought I was joking when I told him that I was bringing a small case and about 4 bags (including 3 pairs of shoes….for 2 nights away…).

I found out where we were heading when he had to give me my train ticket…BRIGHTON baby!!! I love Brighton; it has to be one of the best places to go in this country! We stayed at a small boutique guesthouse called Kemp Townhouse, and it was lovely. I’d highly recommend it. Everything was perfect…I had even more treats waiting for me in the room…long stemmed roses, chilled champagne, and Belgian chocolates…what more could a girl ask for?!

We spent the days wandering around The Lanes, and the shops (LOG now wants some duelling pistols after spotting them in a shop window), and of course visiting the bars and pubs! In the evenings we went to 2 lovely restaurants, the first night we didn’t end up getting to the restaurant until after 10pm…which I felt guilty about until people came in after us!

After ours days in Brighton, we spent a day mooching around London, Oxford Street, a Paul Smith shop for LOG (well I had dragged him in almost every other shop we’d gone past!) St James Park, Buckingham Palace and down Regent Street to see the Christmas lights…which I wasn’t too keen on as I thought they just looked like giant spider webs…

And last but not least I was taken to Whipsnade Zoo!!!! Zoo’s rock!!! Especially the elephants. The tigers and lions were fairly chilled out…well asleep. The otters were cool, they sound like kittens though which was quite random…also watching them eat their tea of dead rats/mice was actually a bit disturbing. The wolves were fighting…or playing! The penguins were the stars of the day though, as we stood at the side they all came over…literally all of them…they just stood there looking at us, so I felt it rude not to make a speech….am I odd??
I had a brilliant brilliant week, and I was totally and utterly spoiled beyond belief…I could get used to that….
