Now that title makes this sound a little wrong..... but rest assured, it's all above board. Last night me and the other half - who, in keeping with Jemma's 'LOG' shall be referred to in code from now on - let's say Mr G - took a trip to the Junction in Cambridge to see the Pigeon Detectives. It was an MTV spanking new music do so we also caught a bit of the Rascals which was a bonus! Some dozy mare (moi) forgot her camera so unfortunately I have no photos at all, however you're not likely to want to see the sweaty mess that was me at the end of the night after much pogo-ing. So were they good? They were brilliant - the lead singer was a complete nutcase. I think every single item of his clothing ended up in the crowd as the night progressed. I was nearly hit in the head with a shoe! The whole show was full of energy and the crowd absolutely loved it. Even the new stuff, that no-one knew, went down well. So.... moral of the story, if you can catch these guys do it - awesome! Now if only I win those Radio 1 big weekend tickets......... Labels: gig, jenny, pigeons
alt='Jem' title='Jem' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Lucky Soul...unlucky feet...
Another week, another gig for me! Hmmm, I can see a habit forming here! I do do things other than go to gigs, just for the record! Anyways, last Thursday saw me road tripping down to the big city once again with LOG to see a great band called Lucky Soul, who are one of my favourites. The venue was dark, dingy and underground (which to me is perfect for seeing a band!). I was wearing killer shoes – and I mean killer. My feet were agony before we even got on the train. However, I drew on my car show experience (high boots + standing all day = agony, incase any of you wondered), and ignored the pain. But also because I love the shoes and I’d never worn them before, despite owning them for over a year. By the time we’d reached the venue, The Astoria 2, I’d made the vow that I will not be wearing those beautiful shoes ever again. The supporting acts had already started, and so we headed for refreshments to help over come shoe pain – but also my new and sudden fear of escalators??? No idea where that came from. But I don’t like them now. Once Lucky Soul started my escalator fear and throbbing feet were forgotten, I was far too busy singing along (apologies to anyone that was nearby and could hear me!), taking photos and having a great time! They did most of the tracks from their current album ‘The Great Unwanted’ and some new tracks from the album they’re currently working on. I also had to do my usual trick of buying a t-shirt – I now have one that proves ‘I ain’t never been cool’ to add to my collection. Perfect. I have to say that they sound amazing live. ‘Baby, I’m Broke’ is so much better live than on the album, although 'Struck Dumb' is still my favourite and I’d recommend checking them out….
My next gig isn’t until 4th May, so I’ll have to think of something else to post about until then…! Hmmm, any ideas?? Labels: Astoria 2, car show, gig, lucky soul, shoes

As Jemma so politely mentioned before, I did manage to stay on my feet for the entire night at her birthday do, despite wearing these shoes....... Quite impressive for one as clumsy as me. And when the vodka had been flowing quite freely - hey, a girl is only 27 once and it needs to be done in style! My 27th is also coming up soon - myself and Jemma being two of the oldest 'babes'. We'll be botoxing before you know it. Here's a slightly 'tired and emotional' pic of us from her birthday evening - notice the multitude of glasses in front of me. Hmmmm! Happy birthday Jemima - roll on 30 hey! Labels: birthday, jemma, jenny, shoes

At the begining of April it was my 25th (cough cough, oh alright 27th) birthday and so to celebrate I decided it was best spread it over 2 weekends.
The first weekend was spent down in St Albans and London, with me being taken out for a suprise birthday day. The suprise came in two parts - the first was that we opened the curtains in the morning to snow - lots of snow. The second was that we were headed to London Zoo (somewhere I've been wanting to go for ages). After a snowy stroll through Regents Park admiring the several snowmen that people seemed to have made in record time (it was about 10:30am), we arrived at the Zoo entrance with me being rather excited!
 Due to the lack of elephants my favourite of the day was the Okapi. The Gorilla's bascially posed for photos, and the tiny monkey on the loose was entertaining. The penguins loved the weather and the giraffes seemed totally confused by it!
Then on the Monday and my return home, I wandered to the local with my family and spent the evening there. Weekend 2 involved a group of us going for a meal at Pizza Express. A large part of our time there was used with us taking several pictures (some involving the table flowers) and no-one really being that interested in the food.... A joke-off was held between LOG and 'lil McCarthy (see 'lil Mc above) - I have no idea what the winning joke was, but the 2 favourite's of the night were about snowmen smelling carrots and 3 pieces of tarmac. Our very own Charlie also made a beautiful snowflake with her napkin - but wouldn't have her picture taken with it! Jenny kept asking for extra vodka...our self-confessed highly accident prone babe managed to end the night in one peice - despite the rather high heels.... This weekend may be a quiet one.... Thanks to all who celebrated with me - LOG, Leah ('lil Mc), babes Jen and Charlie, possible future babe Keely, Caroline, Fliss and Jay and the Okapi. x Labels: babes, birthday, charlie, jenny, Keely, London Zoo
alt='Jem' title='Jem' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Volksworld Show
A couple of weekends ago 3 of us ‘babes’ teamed up with Volksworld Insurance Services and morphed into Volksworld Insurance Services Babes for the 2-day show held at Sandown Park (L-R – Laura, Charlie & Jem) In true March form, it was a rainy weekend but luckily our stand was indoors (good job considering our outfits!) and we were surrounded by some amazing bugs and buses, of which we still can’t decide our favourite! However, the weather didn’t stop the huge turnout – or those camping! The show had a great atmosphere and we got the chance to get out of the office and meet some great people. Our lovely Laura also presented the winners their trophies at the end of the show! Check out our video ( A special thank you must go to the man who brought us bottles of water and the guys who supplied the chocolate to keep us going!!
Not to mention at big thank you to the VWIS guys for looking after us and letting us steal their Volksworld hoodies – they were much appreciated!
We hope to see you all again next year!
NB – Apologies for the lack of beetle key rings….delivery issues….

alt='Jenny' title='Jenny' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Jen's injuries, part 1
I may well be the clumsiest person alive, and this week managed to fall down the stairs AGAIN. I've done it at work 3 times already, where I've chipped bone, broken fingers, torn ligaments and opened my foot up which required a few stiches. D'oh. Girls - a warning: Turnups combined with stillettos MAY be dangerous to your health and give you concussion. Tonight is our resident fluxbabe Jemma's birthday get together and yesterday I bought probably the highest pair of shoes known to man. So tonight we head out with our camera and I'm sure you'll be hearing all about it on here - fingers crossed I'll stay on my feet all night!
alt='Jenny' title='Jenny' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>I am a poker legend!
I am making this post purely and simply to brag and remind my male friends that they got beaten at poker by a GIRL.........! I am partial to the odd bit of gambling...... take me to a racetrack and lose me forever. I wasn't into poker too long ago, however thanks to the wonder of facebook I learnt to play stealthily against 12 year olds and to be honest, perverts. Having several poker friends and a like minded boyfriend the time had come to play my first 'live' game. With real money..... argh!! So, it's a Saturday night and we gather at the house of some good friends, one of which plays every week - he's the man to beat! At this point the food had to be removed from the rather large fridge to make room for the beer. Me + beer = danger. Uh oh....... After some serious domestics about whether to play no limit we settled and the game began. I started to realise me being in charge of my household finances was a good idea when the other half started getting a tad reckless with his chips and went out first. I didn't win a hand for god only knows how long until I got fortunate on the river and beat a pair of Aces with three queens. From then on it all fell into place -as the pile of empty Brahma bottles next to me grew... and grew.... and grew....... I'd like to tell you how I managed to win but it was all a bit of a blur! See right for my 'poker face'.. and note the prominent beer. I now have the bug, and having beaten the maestro (who was third) I now feel the need to rub it in his face at every opportunity! There is a lot to be said for beginner's luck though so I'm thinking I should quit while I'm ahead........... we'll see! Labels: beer, jenny, poker

She made her debut appearance in the Adrian Flux sponsored pink Porsche 911 SC on Easter Monday and was the only girl out of a field of 34! She is now leading in Class in the Championship points and will be back out at Oulton Park very soon!
Still loving that suit by the way!! Best of Luck Sarah!!
