alt='Jem' title='Jem' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Girls Night Out

Last Friday me and a few of my best friends decided that we’d go out for some food and a few drinks as we haven’t had a girlie get-together in ages and ages.

We all finished work early and headed to the Globe in town prepared for an evening of food, drinks, banter and some dancing thrown in for good measure. The idea was to go out early so we'd go home early...that didn't quite go to plan...cough cough...

After the food and a few glasses of wine we ventured from the eating area to the ‘noisy’ area. You know the place, it’s the part of the pub where the music’s so loud, that all conversation dies and all you can do is smile and nod at each other or shout in each others ears to be heard! Well we headed that way and got accosted by a man in pink tights and a skirt!

By this point we were feeling brave (and rather tipsy to say the least) and so Leown went straight in for his sunglasses! Well they were pink! He managed to get them back and ran away – not surprising really, I think we laughed at him a lot.
After there we made out way to Chicago’s (mainly for the free entry and free drink we had vouchers for) where we had a hideous shot of god knows what and made a beeline for the dance floor! (Between you and me, I don’t think the shot helped our dance moves any!)

After an hour or so Leown and Gemma decided to call it a night and headed home, but Lauren and I, being hardcore, decided we’d head to Heights for the Glitterball room – you gotta love the disco!

Here we were treated to some card tricks by a lad wearing a white hat. It was a cool hat. I really enjoy magic tricks (yes, I'm a geek!)but it drives me mad trying to work out how they’re done. Not made easier by the fact that we were both drunk at this point. After a bit more dancing, we decided to call it a night and after not being able to convince Lauren’s boyfriend to come and get us we headed for a taxi thoroughly satisfied with our night with all boxes ticked. Food – check, drink – check, girlie banter and laughs – check, odd photos – check, lots of dancing – check.

Until the next time…

I am a big fan of Transformers, I loved the first movie and I am getting very excited about the second film coming out on the 26th June this year... Revenge of the Fallen. So for all of you that loved the first film, I thought I would get you to all join in with getting excited about the second one with me!!

So the Jist of the second film Takes place two years later, with Sam going to college as a freshmen. While there something occurs and Sam gains information about the origins of the Transformers and their ties to ancient Earth history. Information that the Decepticons want and the Autobots must stop them from getting. So Decepticon forces return to Earth on a mission to take Sam Witwicky prisoner, so Optimus Prime forms an alliance with international armies for a second epic battle.

Well, I ain't going to tell you the whole story, as I don't want to give it away and I don't really know... So We will have to wait and see, But I know its going to be excellent,

So Like Optimus Prime would say......Transform and Roll out!!

Well I hope that everyone had a lovely Christmas, I know I did! I woke up at 7.30 this year - which is a lot different to past years when I could not wait until half 7 and decided it would be a good idea to wake my mum at half 5 and set my alarm at half 2 in the morning hehe!

It took me about 10 minutes to open my presents, as you get older the pile of presents seems to get smaller, I got some games for my DS, slippers, scarf and glove sets, and lots of chocolates and sweets - yum yum!!

All morning Mum was busy in the kitchen making dinner and it was delicious My uncle always comes round for Christmas dinner, I love Christmas dinner as its really the only time of year that the whole family will sit up the table together.

In the afternoon Mum and Dad take our Dog Bella for a walk and me and my brother stay at home watching Christmas TV, this year we got Lips for the Xbox so we were playing this all afternoon...... I am currently undefeated!!

Boxing day My Auntie, Uncle and cousins come round for the day - we have another Christmas dinner this time with Beef, we all squeeze round the table and have our dinner.

In the afternoon we play games, this year we have movie scene it, lips and Articulate, its always a laugh. Then in the evening we have tea and more games. This is a very messy part of the day as me and my auntie always have some fun, this year with the Squirty Cream.

alt='Charlie' title='Charlie' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>SAD

There's just something about this time of year...the parties are over, the decorations all gone - it's dark when you leave the house and dark when you get home, not to mention the weather.

In one word - Depressing!

I have come to the conclusion that I suffer slightly from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) and I'm not alone - Up to one in 20 people is believed to be affected by SAD, with women three times more likely to be affected than men. Younger people, particularly those between the ages of 18 and 40, are more likely to suffer. I'm doomed!!

Symptoms can include:
  • Sleep problems

  • Lethargy

  • Overeating

  • Depression

  • Social problems

  • Anxiety & lowered tolerance to stress

  • Mood changes

The cause behind all this is a lack of exposure to natural light! This lack of lux causes a chemcal imbalance leading to the symptoms mentioned above.

So - what are we to do?! well increasing exposure to natural sunlight is an obvious start! Or you can always buy some false light...hmmm an ugly lamp or a holiday in the caribbean - tough choice! and as always a healthy diet and exercise are essential to help your body feel good.

So there we go...a little bit more encouragement to stick to those new years resolutions! Or just an excuse to jet off to sunnier climates...

'Happy' New Year Everyone! ...I'm off to look at holidays! :)

alt='Sarah' title='Sarah' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Customer Service Christmas Party!

Free food, free bar, dancing all night with the Girlies and err.........great music!? well cheesy xmas tunes....but what more could you want!!!??

I started the night with a bottle of wine at home shared with Gemma. The Bash was held at
Leziate Sailing Club. We were given a lift to Leziate, had a couple more glasses of wine and mingled whilst checking out eveyones pretty dresses, shoes and handbags to match.

It was then time for our 3 course meal, which was a good thing as I was feeling quite drunk and it was still very early!! For starters I had Vegetable Soup (or at least I think it was - taste buds were a bit shot at that point), for the main course I had traditional Christmas Dinner and for dessert I had Apple Tarte - yummy!!

Once everyone had finished their meal the lights then dimmed and the music began! Gemma and I strutted to the dance floor and that's where we stayed all evening!! I wasn't a great fan of the music to start with, however the more wine I had the better the music got, funny that!?

We shook our booty to ' I wish it could be Christmas' and 'Silent Night' and grinded to 'Jingle Bells', its was then time for 'S Club 7, Reach for the Stars' ......it was mental.

The evening was then coming to an end and eventually I managed to find fellow Fluxbabe Kelly at the bar, where she had been all night. I managed to drag her away from her empty shot glasses and persuade her to bust a couple of moves on the dance floor.

As Midnight approached, the party was over and after begging the DJ unsuccessfully to play one more we had the decision of either going home or continuing the night into town. The shoes I was wearing had heals that even Naomi Cambell would avoid and feeling very drunk I decided to head home.

We all had a fabulous night xxx

alt='Jem' title='Jem' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>New Years Eve - Ealing Style!

Instead of hitting the delightful nightspots of Kings Lynn for New Years Eve, I headed to the bright lights of the south – well Ealing via St Albans actually, for a fancy dress house party. The theme for the fancy dress was dead rock stars, which may sound easy (and definitely if you’re a bloke) but how many dead female rock stars can you name? For me it was none! So rock stars merged into anyone to do with music! I nicked my brothers drumsticks and opted for Karen Carpenter!

Other stars at the party included Bob Marley Jam Master J from RUN DMC, Freddie Mercury, Lisa ‘left eye’ Lopez and Dusty Springfield.
What on earth did Karen Carpenter wear I wondered, despite the repeated suggestions of just wearing a skeleton suit (you’d be surprised at how many people suggested this) I went for the ‘Lead Sister’ top she wore when touring in Germany. I didn’t think going as a skeleton would be very funny, especially considering how serious anorexia is.

Once the party got in full swing out came Sing Star…oh dear…my singing isn’t the best normally, let alone after a few glasses of wine! Nevertheless I gave it a good go! I do have to say I was quiet disappointed that there were no Carpenters tracks – I’d spent ages practising, after fearing we’d each have to sing in character! The boys beat the girls at The Killers, and LOG and I did an awesome version of Kings of Leon ‘Bucket’. At around 10pm we let off the first of the fireworks, we thought we’d better incase we got too drunk later or forgot! We all ‘Ooood’ and ‘Ahhhd’ in the right places, the kids from next door even joined in! I was happy as it meant that I’d seen fireworks in 2008 – after missing them at the company display!

Once the first round was done it was back inside for cocktails and more singing…I believe for some reason most if not all the cocktails had Triple Sec in...I have no idea why.

Midnight came round and we did the hugging, kissing, Auld Lang Syne -ing and of course the obligatory texting to everyone you know who has a mobile! I appeared to still be doing this at 2am…I have no idea…

Outside again for the remainder of the fireworks, a house a few doors down also had some so we were Oooing and Ahhing at theirs too! But this time, for some unknown reason LOG was sporting a long blonde wig. It was rather amusing to see Kurt Cobain and Jam Master J lighting fireworks and then running away with their blonde hair!
After the fireworks were finished we all went back inside and carried on with the cocktails until around 4am!

Everyone had a brilliant night and 2008 definitely ended on a high with 2009 starting with a bang, not to mention a few sore heads in the morning…well ok, afternoon!

Happy New Year!
