I can't remember ever taking a real interest in the Olympic games! Other than the odd race here and there years ago in the summer holidays when there was nothing else on TV. But other than that I never even knew there was sailing, boxing and even football involved! I suppose I just thought it was track events - a bit like a big school sports day really...

So to get quite caught up in it this year was a bit of a shock! I've even been watching in the mornings when I'm getting ready for work! and catching up on the day's events. What's even more of a shock is that we're (at the time of writing) now 3rd in the medals table!!! and have won the most gold medals sine 1920.

(I don't think they look quite as good as we do in the lycra though!)
I'm feeling very proud of all our athletes! and feeling even better about being ahead of the aussies! :) Lets just hope it stays that way!

I doubt very much whether we can top Beijing's opening ceremony when we host the games in 2012! It will be interesting to see what our guys come up with. But medal wise - I reckon we'll be on top form! Until then lets keep our fingers crossed for team GB

Finally!!! Here are some of the pictures from Bug Jam at Santapod! Sorry it took so long! As most of you know Bug Jam was actually on 18th,19th and 20th July! Well I hope the pictures were worth the wait!

Flux Babes- Penny, Rachelle & Me (Keely) went for the Saturday and Sunday. We were there helping our our sister company HIC on the Just Kampers stand. If you were there and lucky enough to see one of us you may have even got yourself a Just Camper keyring or mousepad!

If you did, you would have been very lucky to have got a mousepad because they went like hotcakes! They were all gone by saturday lunch time. But they were rather cool Camper-shaped ones though, I wanted one for myself- sniff.

The picture above is of me, Penny & Rachelle posing by a really cool bay camper! We were all converted to VW's that weekend I think! The campers were soooooo cool! But the coolest VW there had to be Just Campers 'VanCake'! They made the worlds lowest VW Transporter! It was brilliant to watch them making it- if a little dangerous as we got a bit closer.... theres no holding the Flux babes back! ha! I'm sorry I don't have a picture of it but they managed to get it painted and everything in 3 days!!! and the plan was to race it on the Santapod race track!

Opposite is a VW I fell totally in love with, its called a 'Bootle'....awwwwww! Sorry I know its really girly to call a car 'cute' but- godamit! it is! There was even a little storyboard leaning on it too, showing the making of the bootle which made it even more endearing! I want one!!!!!!!

I am seriously considering getting a VW (most likely a bug!) as lets face it, it has to be more reliable than my car- and much cooler! Plus I really want to go again next year and so obviously I will need a VW if im goin to camp! Otherwise it will just be embarrassing!

Below is a picture of Penny, Rachelle & me in front of one of the many cool split screen campers that were in top condition. The interiors were spotless and so well done. I do like it when the interiors are all colour co-ordinated and there was cute little finishes like cushions etc- you know how us girls like decorative cushions!

We were there Sunday to, til the end -Hardcore babes you see! and our main job that weekend was to advertise Just Kampers competition which was a years free insurance. 2nd and 3rd prize were Just Kampers vouchers- very helpful too all those VW fans restoring their cute little campers!

Of course there were some more 'manly' VW's which I also loved, like the VW camper pickup at the top. I was really interested in the VW's that had been restored to look a bit rusty and 'used'. I was asking all the owners loads of questions and i still feel like I know hardly anything! Next time I go I could really do with brushing up on my VW facts as I felt rather limited in my knowledge, especially in comparison to the dedicated VW owners.

Oh and I think we should camp too! Although... I would most likely look a LOT less glamourous. Yes, I probably shouldn't admit to it but we did stay in a hotel that weekend with all the lovely mod cons....and a indoor loo! Maybe next year...maybe!

Below is a rather fab looking tank we liked the look of! We basically leapt at the owner and thankfully he agreed to let us have a seat. I think this should have been our transport for the weekend, it certainly would have been very useful in getting through the crowds! mu ha ha!

The whole weekend was really sunny and beautiful weather, poor Rachelle was kicking herself for leaving her sunglasses in her car! As you cab see in the background there was even a funfair!!! It looked really fun but unfortunately we didn't get a chance to even go on the bumper cars. We work so hard- sigh! ha ha.

All in all it was great weekend, everyone was smiling and friendly and the cars and campers were awe inspiring. The time and love that classic VW owners spend on their vehicles really shows and I will definately be there next weekend even if I go as a non-babe!

alt='kels' title='kels' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Marbella

Just had a weekend in Marbella on a hen weekend, the weather was fantastic and the hotel was great and so was the company (mainly semi naked guys, he, he) I had a fab time although boots have messed up my pics so these two are the only two I have! One was taken by the girls and one was taken by a group of lads we met! guess which one the lads took?

alt='Jem' title='Jem' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Party time

Yesterday saw babe Keelys younger sister turning 21, so to celebrate this, last Friday saw half of the Flux staff and many others turning out for her fancy dress party.

Leah decided against a theme so the fancy dress was anything goes! From Captain Jack Sparrow to a lifeguard to Cruella De Vil! The birthday girl herself transformed into Aphrodite, whilst babes Keely, Rachelle and myself were Marie Antoinette, a raver and a flapper girl!

The best dressed of the evening for me had to be John McEnroe and Bjorn Borg (aka LOG and COG) from the 1981 Wimbledon men’s final. They even went as far as recreating the match outside…obviously I would never condone the use of children as a net – but they volunteered.

Everyone had a great time, the outfits were brilliant and the main thing was everyone succeeded in getting the birthday girl rather tipsy!!

Happy Birthday Leah!!

alt='Jem' title='Jem' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Scaffolding...indoors...

A few months ago I brought my first house, and since then a lot of my evenings and weekends have been taken up with painting, sewing, sofa buying, gardening and scaffolding….yes I said scaffolding!!

My lovely little house has a velux window – that can’t be reached from anywhere - lounge landing or bedroom. So in order to clean, varnish and replace the blind (which didn’t appear to have been done ever since the place was built over 20 years ago) we had to get the scaffolding in!
The scaffolding was rather a lot larger than I’d imagined and so most of the lounge had to be emptied into the bedroom and garden.

Thankfully it only took 1 ½ days to get everything done, so the disarray of my house wasn’t for long. I’m happy to say that it won’t have to be done again for another few years…unless I change my colour scheme….

Now all that's left to do is the garden fence, carpeting, a new kitchen, wallpapering......

global gathering

I spent last weekend in stratford upon haven... for the yearly music festival- global gathering!

I went with two of my bestest buddies from oxford.
We spent the daytime enjoying the shine shine with a few bevies and making the most of the fair ground rides that were there....
I only attended for the sat so unfortunately i missed kayne west ( i was gutted )
but i did see sam sparrow and Robyn who where both awsome.
The red arrows also made an appearance.. there stunts are just breath taking!
As the sun began to set the parting got harder... and we spent our time moving from tent to tent enjoying the different types of music.
If you enjoy a good stomp this is certainly the event for you.. there is something for everyone....A highlight of my summer!

alt='Jade' title='Jade' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Lake District

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of going to the Lake District, A Little place called Hartsop. It was a beautiful place and a walkers dream, me not being much of a walking person did not think that I would enjoy it that much. However I truly did.

This was the house that we stayed in it was lovely but the first night I was pretty scary.

Obviously being the ''Lake'' District they was few lakes and it was a really nice place and as you are driving through the mountains it was a pretty amazing.

This was the hill, mountain or peak (whatever you wish to call it really) which was right outside our house! it don't look that big but trust me it was I think i got one quarter or the way up and had to go back!!

When we were there we went on 2 waterfall walks that was amazing I did not think that they had this kind of thing in England... I was wrong.

This was a random stream very lovely.

All in all - Lake District 10 out of 10

A few months ago I helped deliver 11 Puppies

This is the day they were born. It was a messy affair, but worth it in the end!!

They were hungry little things

A few weeks later and they got big, really Quick.

And still very Hungry.

And this is them the last time I got to see them before they went off to their new homes. They are so much fun to be around and I'm going to miss them.

If I could I would keep them all.

alt='Charlie' title='Charlie' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>BUG JAM!

If you're heading to Bug Jam this weekend (Friday 18th to Sunday 20th July 2008 at Santa Pod Raceway) - make sure you look out for fluxbabes Penny, Keely and Rachelle! They will be there at supporting our friends from HIC, who are specialists in VW Insurance.

It's difficult to know where to start as there's so much going on over the weekend! From VW Drag Racing, Show and Shine and the opportunity to "run what ya brung" (Strictly V Dubs only!) there's also bands and comedians performing day and night, a skate park, roller skating ring and funfair! So you won't be short of things to do!

Check out the tickets page on the Bug Jam website for all ticket info.

alt='Jem' title='Jem' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Festival Too 2008

Every summer Kings Lynn holds a free music festival, called Festival Too, held in the town centre spread over a few weekends. During the days, there are clowns and various other street entertainments going on, and by night the market place fills with people (15,000 this year so we're told) and the stage is taken by not only names like Toyah, Atomic Kitten, Heather Small (last year), and The Human League (from 2006) but also tribute bands and local bands.

This year we were lucky enough to have performances by Toyah, The Commitments, After Hours, T-Rextasy, Boot-Led-Zeplin, Pentasonic and local bands - The First, After Hours Blues Band, The Brink, and Kuda. This years Festival was headed lined by Atomic Kitten!

I only went to the final night, that featured The Brink, Kuda and Atomic Kitten - mainly as my brother plays bass for Kuda - I'm not really into the girlie pop stuff! Give me some Glamorous Indie Rock 'n' Roll anyday....

(apologies Keith - I seem to have cut you in half!)

Both bands were brilliant, and I'm glad that LOG has finally seen Kuda play - he can now no longer say they're a imaginary band! Plus I got a badge from The Brink!

By the sounds of it, every night was brilliant (despite the rain) with crowds of people and a great atmosphere. There's not many towns that can say they have a totally free music festival every summer and get acts like Atomic Kitten to perform!

Next year we've been promised bigger and better - which the organisers keep delivering, so it'll be interesting to see who we get next year! I've got my fingers crossed for the Foo Fighters or 30 Seconds to Mars....or maybe even Muse.... now to see any of them I'd claim my place at the front......from dawn.....with Jenny right beside me!

alt='Jem' title='Jem' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Roma

Last week I was lucky enough to escape the UK for a few days, and headed with my other half, LOG, to the eternal city of Rome. Now my favourite place in the world!

We managed to fit seeing everything in, St Peters, the Sistine Chapel, The Pantheon, Villa Borghese, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Colosseum, several other fountains and piazzas, the Forum and not forgetting the garden of the Vestal Virgins!

Without thinking about my fear of heights, we decided to go to the top of St Peters, unbeknownst to me, it would involve a claustrophobic, spiral staircase (spiral stairs are also another of my daft fears!), however the view from the top was well worth the incredibly slow climb!

The view from the top of St Peters

The Trevi Fountain

Me on the Spanish Steps - yes in a dress!

Outside the Pantheon

Me in the Pantheon doorway

The Pantheon ceiling

Me in the Vatican Museum garden. Those people weren't really taking pictures of me - although it looks like it!

My favourite place we visited had to be the Pantheon. It looks plain and like a giant stone building from the outside, but when you step through the (absolutely giant) doorway, it’s a huge perfectly circular marble and stone chapel! The ceiling was rather spectacular too!

The Sistine Chapel was breath taking. It has to be the most incredible things I’ve ever seen. It’s a good job that you’re not allowed to take pictures of it (although some of the Americans didn’t seem to realise the picture of a camera with a cross over it meant ‘no photos’ and the rules applied to them too, and they had to be shouted at by the guards) as no camera could ever do it justice and produce a picture of it as beautiful as it really is.

Rome is definitely one of the most beautiful and amazing cities on earth. Not only for the sights, but also for the food, the wine and the relaxed atmosphere. Not that we go to do much relaxing with all the places I wanted to visit! (LOG’s face dropped a bit when I presented him with a list in response to his question “so what things did you want to visit?”) One thing I will say – make sure you have really comfy shoes. The streets are cobbled and flip flops just hurt after a while!

alt='Jenny' title='Jenny' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Satan lives - in rubber duck form

This weekend I took part in a hen night for my lovely friend Lisa - and a big thanks to the other Lisa for organising it. We took a limo to Norwich - I confess, I'm not a limo fan at all - but then it turned up and was not just your average Lincoln towncar, but a Range Rover! By this point the champagne cockatils were flowing anyway so to be honest I wouldn't have cared if it was a seicento.

So, to explain the rubber duck thing......... the boys of our social circle have a little game that involves a golf ball and drinking (!). One golf ball is available and if it is put into your drink while you're holding it, you have to drink your drink in one. Yes, in one. If however your drink is on the table the person who did the dunking has to drink their own drink in one.

Now, this is clearly a game built for men. However some bright spark decided we should do it, but with a rubber duck. And the rules changed vastly - if the duck was in your drink, that was it - down the neck it went. I believe I was 'ducked' about 7 times and most of those were cocktails. At times the duck would be in your drink before it was even delivered to you. And then the nasty people behind the bar stole him! After much arguing (read: Rachel shouting at the barmaid) he was returned.

Now - children - this sort of drinking is not big and not clever. The duck game should not be repeated. I vaguely recall getting home in the limo (covering myself and the leather interior in Corona somehow) but little else. A big thanks to the other half for putting up with the state that I was in yesterday! There would be pictures, but they are that repulsive I care not to show them.

Thanks to all the girls for a cracking weekend - the stag do is on Friday and coincidentally I'll be at the same place for a different occasion, so methinks a few golf balls will be coming with me to cause chaos............

I wont go into how

alt='Charlie' title='Charlie' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>FRENCH CAR SHOW 2008

Well this year, my experience of the French Car Show was a little different from 2007... As you can see from the pic - I wasn't donning the lycra (or the heels! check out little miss midget in the middle there!) My role at Flux involves a lot of planning and organisation of the shows we attend, so really I had to be on hand to help set up and muck in with all the work that goes on behind the scenes. For many of the girls this year it was there first show - and they all did a fantastic job! Despite nearly getting blown away by the major winds!

The pictures from the weekend will all be on the website soon, but if you really can't wait - check out our Bebo and Facebook pages! If you were there at the show why not leave a comment too - as we'd love to know what you thought...

Bye for now...

Last week we had a visit from Dave, who works at our sister company HIC. Dave came to look round the offices, see how we work etc etc - but ended up wearing a fluxbabe outfit and posing on the bonnet of his (very original) car. All in a day's work.

Well as you french car fans will all know, last sunday was the french national's car show at rockingham!

It was my very first show as a fluxbabe, so i didn't know what to expect...
All us babes had a lovely day, the weather held out this year- which was an added bonus , it was a tad windy.. but nothing we can't handle!

We had lots to offer at the show this year, we had several competitions running, one of which was to see who could get the fastest lap around the sky electric's track... i must say it was funny to watch just how competitive some of the guys got over that one... i can't say I blame them- being as the price at stake was £250!! . . . just think how
many pairs of shoes....

It was lovely to have the chance to actually meet some of our clients instead of just hearing a voice at the end of the phone.

I must say i was impressed by a lot of the cars at the show.. It was a really good turn out, people had come from far and wide to come and show off their cars.
I particulary took a liking to the one in this pic... I think it liked me back?!

The day flew by in an instant, I had a brilliant time, and cant wait until my next port of duty as a flux babe. x x

alt='Jade' title='Jade' align=right width=60 hspace=10 vspace=10'/>Dirty Dancing Musical

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to go and watch Dirty Dancing the musical in London. Me and Mum got a bus early in the morning, The bus journey was very boring but I had my IPod and DS to keep me happy and we saw the most strangest cars!!

We landed in Covent Garden at 11am and we had some time to do some shopping before the show started at 3pm. Convent garden was mental, Random people doing street shows it was amazing!!

Well we were hoping to go to Oxford street and meet Gok Wan but we didn't want to miss the show! So we done some shopping in Covent Garden I made a trip to the Oakley shop and Mum treated me to a new outfit! We had lunch in Garfunkel's and that was yummy I just had a Omelette and Baked Beans of course!!!

Then after we done a bit more shopping it was time to go to the show! I grew up on the Film and was so excited about the show! I got myself a key ring and a vest - saying Nobody puts baby in the corner! Then we took our seats and waited for the performance to start - It was Brilliant - I was so Happy that I got to watch and it was done so well!

I had a lovelY time and cant wait till I next go to London and hopefully spend a bit more time doing some shopping!
