Another week, another gig for me! Hmmm, I can see a habit forming here! I do do things other than go to gigs, just for the record!
Anyways, last Thursday saw me road tripping down to the big city once again with LOG to see a great band called Lucky Soul, who are one of my favourites. The venue was dark, dingy and underground (which to me is perfect for seeing a band!). I was wearing killer shoes – and I mean killer. My feet were agony before we even got on the train. However, I drew on my car show experience (high boots + standing all day = agony, incase any of you wondered), and ignored the pain. But also because I love the shoes and I’d never worn them before, despite owning them for over a year.
By the time we’d reached the venue, The Astoria 2, I’d made the vow that I will not be wearing those beautiful shoes ever again. The supporting acts had already started, and so we headed for refreshments to help over come shoe pain – but also my new and sudden fear of escalators??? No idea where that came from. But I don’t like them now.

Once Lucky Soul started my escalator fear and throbbing feet were forgotten, I was far too busy singing along (apologies to anyone that was nearby and could hear me!), taking photos and having a great time! They did most of the tracks from their current album ‘The Great Unwanted’ and some new tracks from the album they’re currently working on. I also had to do my usual trick of buying a t-shirt – I now have one that proves ‘I ain’t never been cool’ to add to my collection. Perfect.

I have to say that they sound amazing live. ‘Baby, I’m Broke’ is so much better live than on the album, although 'Struck Dumb' is still my favourite and I’d recommend checking them out….
My next gig isn’t until 4th May, so I’ll have to think of something else to post about until then…! Hmmm, any ideas??
